Reflexology

The human body is an amazing instrument. One of the most extraordinary things about the human body is the way the reflexes provide seemingly unrelated “cause and effect” results in other parts of the body. Reflexology is the process of applying pressure to or massaging different Longitudinal Zones on each side of the body, to stimulate the flow of blood and fluids to other areas. Applying just the right ‘touch’ to the feet, hands, or ears with a specific amount of pressure can yield truly amazing physical results. Manipulating specific zones on one side of the body, can affect zones on the other side of the body. By dividing the body into 10 equal vertical zones (five on either side), a Massage Therapist certified in Reflexology can assess and treat the whole body using this series of defined and applied points of pressure.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy may be added as an enhancement to any massage session from a Aura Massage & Skincare. This enhancement provides guests with a highly beneficial, and therapeutic experience.  Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils from plants for healing. Aromatherapy is not only the inhalation of the scent, but also the action of massaging the essential oils into the skin. Whether inhaled or applied to the skin, essential oils are gaining attention as an alternative treatment for infections, stress, and other health problems. Aromatherapy accesses and cultivates the unique qualities of different essential oils to help relax the mind, body, and soul during a Aura Massage & Skincare session.

Chair Massage

Chair Massage techniques focus on the manipulation of the soft tissues of the upper body, including; the head, neck, back, and shoulders which are often the source of frequent tension. During a chair massage session, you will be seated in a specifically designed chair. This chair allows the therapist to have easy access to key areas, and the result is a very targeted massage-design to pinpoint exact areas of the body

Corporate Massage Services

No matter what your employees’ duties are, any office can often be a source of stress. Presentations, deadlines, meetings, and big projects can all cause the neck, back and shoulders to ache and stiffen. Corporate massage addresses this issue by making relaxation and rejuvenation part of the work day, leading to many benefits for both employees and the company as a whole.

Couples Massage

Couples Massage is a wonderfully relaxing experience. During the session, two people will receive a massage at the same time, and in the same room from two different Massage Therapists. The therapy provides many of the same benefits as other types of massage but with some added bonuses.

Cranial Sacral Therapy

Cranial Sacral Therapy is a simple procedure involving light, therapeutic touch administered to the head, neck, and other troublesome areas that prevent the exchange of cerebrospinal fluid (or what is called arterial pressure) throughout the body, targeting cranial bone movement. Certified Practitioners of this therapy use selective pressures to manipulate the cranial bones, offering guests the feeling of deep relaxation during and after the session.

Deep Tissue Massage

A Deep Tissue Massage Session from a Aura Massage and Skincare targets the deep layers of connective tissue and muscles throughout the body. Using slow strokes to apply pressure, the massage focuses on areas of defined pain and tension. Injuries or chronic muscle tension can cause adhesion’s, more commonly referred to as knots, to form in the tendons, ligaments, and muscles. These adhesion’s are rigid, often painful and they can block proper blood circulation, impede natural movement and cause inflammation. When the muscles are deeply massaged, blood flow throughout the body is increased. The better blood flow reduces inflammation and therefore relieves pain. Deep tissue massage breaks down the adhesion’s to restore natural movement and reduce pain, and repeated massage sessions can break up and even eliminate the presence of scar tissue.

Migraine Therapy Massage

Aura Massage and Skincare can offer a unique combination of cold therapy, aromatherapy, hot foot towels, and trigger point massage to help alleviate the pain from headaches and migraines. This therapy works best when added to a 60 or 90-minute full body massage session.

Himalayan Stone Massage

When warm Himalayan Salt Stones are used during the massage, they can relax the body, soothe sore muscles, help improve sleep, and mildly exfoliate the skin. But the benefits don’t stop there. Himalayan Salt Stones allow our Licensed Massage Therapists to customize how they treat each guest. Himalayan Salt Stones can be used warm or chilled to offer contrast therapy, stimulating and improving blood flow, which can promote healing and help decrease inflammation. Our Massage Therapists slowly roll a round-shaped stone over stubborn knots, mimicking the use of a rolling pin or steam roller, to help “pave” the way to pain relief.

Hot Stone

Hot Stone Massage is a traditional, age-old technique passed down by Native Americans and has also been widely accepted as a therapeutic practice for many centuries in Asia. Smooth stones are heated in a controlled temperature bath and placed directly on the body.

Myofascial Massage

This advanced myofascial core release focuses on releasing trapped waste and adhered fibers of the whole body from the center-line out. This method is a dry massage (no lotions or oils). Fascia and muscle fibers, by their nature, respond to both heat and manual manipulation. Using no lubricants allows for maximum friction between the Massage Therapist and the guests fibers and facilitates natural heat production using slow, expensive pull and release to the body. This method uses compression, supported joint traction, cross-fiber friction, as well as components of Ashiatsu and rocking techniques.

Prenatal Massage

Pregnancy is a time of change and growth for a woman’s body. Some of these changes can be stressful, and sometimes even painful for the expectant mother. One of the best ways to ease pain and relieve stress is with a Prenatal Massage Session from Aura Massage and Skincare. Massage has been utilized for thousands of years to relieve stress, relax muscles, and improve general health—and that remains true during pregnancy. While the essential benefits of massage therapy remain the same, prenatal massage requires different techniques to ensure the safety of mother and baby. With a few precautions and a clear line of communication between the mother and massage therapist, there is little to no danger to the mother or baby.
